Polygon (MATIC) Price Forecast & Prediction 2022-2025

Polygon’s native token MATIC is one of the best-placed assets in the cryptocurrency space. Recent key updates support MATIC’s bullish view. The crypto launched EIP 1559 upgrade at the start of the year, reducing block size and integrating a fee-burning feature.

The ETH scaling solution also announced a permissionless ZK-rollup to scale capabilities further. However, macroeconomic factors, including inflation and central banks’ activities, have kept MATIC in check.

Look no further if you look for this crypto price prediction for 2022-2025. We will look at the latest trends to determine what to expect from the future price changes.

What is Polygon?

It is a layer-two scaling solution built for ETH scaling and infrastructure development. The platform functions by enabling developers to deploy ETH-compatible protocols seamlessly. Polygon enables this function with various developer modules, including consensus and governance modules, execution environments, and virtual machine implementations.

With Polygon SDK, developers can build and link layer-2 infrastructures like Plasma, ZK Rollups, Optimistic Rollups, and Validium. Polygon-supported blockchain benefits from the proof-of-stake consensus algorithm, which uses validators to secure transactions.

Polygon’s PoS and Plasma hybrid consists of three layers; staking and Plasma smart contracts, Heimdall layer, and Bor. The first layer supports smart contracts for staking function and the PoS layer. The Heimdall layer facilitates the aggregation of blocks from the Bor layer into a Merkle Tree. Bor is the block generation layer that synchronizes transactions into blocks.

Matic Network was renamed Polygon in 2021 to support the various layer-2 scaling networks. The platform was unveiled in 2017 by co-founders; Jayant Kanani, Sandeep Nailwal, Anurag Arjun, and Mihailo Bjelic. Polygon has attracted Binance Labs, Coinbase Ventures, and AU21 Capital backing.
