Under the agreement, LegitDoc will roll-out a credentialing system powered by Ethereum to check the originality of the academic certificates.
Maharashtra State Board of Skill Development has welcomed the move even as it opposes India’s crypto ban in using Ethereum based public blockchain technology.
LegitDoc’s CEO, Neil Martis, pointed out that apart from the manual document verification, MSBSD will also be championing the digital verification method from next year.
MSBSD’s move aims to counter the rise in forgery of government-issued documents in the past 10 years.
Recognized institutions such as the National Institute of Technology are currently in talks to implement a similar solution against document forgery.
