American carmaker Tesla Inc. reported over 200,000 deliveries in the second quarter of the year, recording its biggest quarterly performance to date.

Tesla recorded a total of 201,250 deliveries in the second quarter, up from 184,800 in the previous quarter. Most were for the Model 3/Y with 199,360, while the Model S/X hit 1,890.
Total production grew to 206,241 from the previous quarter’s 180,338. Production for the Model 3/Y climbed to 204,081, while the Model S/X stood at 2,340.
Chief Executive Officer Elon Musk also announced the results on Twitter, welcoming the latest figures “despite many challenges.” He did not elaborate, but he earlier noted supply issues, especially microcontroller chips.
Tesla lauded its teams for an “outstanding job,” citing global supply chain and logistics challenges.
