Core Ethereum developer Tim Beiko has presented a series of suggestions and projections about the upcoming Merge of application and protocol developers on Ethereum.

A few thoughts on #TestingTheMerge:
1. Protocol layer testing != application level testing. Client + protocol testing teams focus mostly on changes to the protocol not causing cross-client issues or breaking existing applications.

Beiko indicated testing things for average users of applications and protocols to ensure nothing is broken. Beiko encouraged users and developers to focus and ensure they are ready for the Merge.
The Merge is a highly complex and long-awaited situation when the Ethereum network transitions from proof-of-work (PoW) to proof-of-stake (PoS) consensus.
Testing on different testnets has been targeted on ensuring that there are no cross-client aspects or that existing applications do not break up after the Merge.
Beiko showed significant confidence that despite the delays in the execution of the Merge, the possible problems have been integrated into a single echelon.
