Coinbase Looks to Onboard Indian Talent in Crypto, Web3


Global exchange Coinbase is looking to onboard Indian talent in the cryptocurrency space and the web3 technology, with an event to discuss future plans in the country later this week.

COIN is up 2.65%, and INDA is up 2.27%.

Coinbase Chief Executive Brian Armstrong said the firm will host a crypto community event in Bangalore on April 7, to discuss projections about the cryptocurrencies and web3 in India moving forward.

Armstrong said the company is looking to employ over 1,000 individuals in its Indian hub this year alone, after launching it last year. The firm currently has over 300 full-time employees across India and its regions.

Armstrong said Coinbase Ventures has already invested $150 million in Indian technology companies in the cryptocurrency space and is continuously on the lookout for new opportunities.

Armstrong will continue to tour India and meet with crypto founders and entrepreneurs.
