Tesla Opens Its First Solar Charging Station in China’s Sunny Region

Tesla announced the opening of its first solar power charging station in China at Tibetan Capital Lhasa.

Source: Reuters.

TSLA: NASDAQ is up 4.95%.

The location of the station was chosen because of its sufficient sunlight in the remote and long-impoverished mountainous area.

China is Tesla’s second-largest market, but the power station is the first and shall have on-site power storage.

The electric vehicle maker started the energy business in 2016 after purchasing California-based SolarCity at $2.6 billion.

The electric vehicle manufacturer is striving to enhance its solar industry.

The move comes after Tesla advertised for solar and energy storage project managers in the country in 2020.
