Production in the industry climbed for the second straight month to carve a three-month high in October, but remained below the levels seen a year ago.

The production index for the industry stood at 96.8 in October, the fastest in three months since 98.1 in July. This is 2.8% higher than the previous month, but 0.6% lower than the same month last year.
Production in industry excluding energy and construction climbed 3.2%, with capital goods up by 8.2%. Production of motor vehicles, trailers, and semi-trailers jumped by 12.6%, while production of intermediate goods fell by 0.4%.
The September production in industry was corrected to indicate a 0.5% decrease from the previous month, following the provision -1.1% earlier recorded to reflect seasonal and calendar adjustments
Production in construction increased by 1.2% from the previous month to 116.7 from 115.3.
