NYTVIP offers vouchers, or discounts, to fleets across New York State that purchase or lease medium-and heavy-duty zero-emission battery electric vehicles (BEV).
Upon the approval, the purchasers of the Nikola Tre BEV can qualify for an incentive worth up to $185,000 per truck, with a scrappage guideline.
Michael Erickson, Global Head, Strategic Planning of Nikola, stated that by qualifying for both California’s and New York’s Incentive programs, the company would have an impact on two key markets with high commercial traffic volume.
The incentive program, administered by the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA), will make it easier for fleets to adopt zero-emission vehicle technologies by reducing initial costs.
