Enlight Renewable Energy announced on Monday the commencement of commercial operations at Genesis Wind, marking it as the largest renewable energy project in Israel.
Impressive Scale and Capacity
Out of the project’s 39 turbines, 34 have already reached commercial operations, boasting a commendable generation capacity of 180 megawatts. The remaining five turbines are expected to be operational soon after the completion of final tests, elevating the overall capacity to an impressive 207 megawatts.
Strong Financial Prospects
Enlight anticipates that the wind project will generate substantial revenue between $49 million to $51 million in its first full year of operation.
Unwavering Commitment Amidst Turbulence
Enlight Chief Executive, Gilad Yaavetz, expressed the company’s resolute commitment, stating that despite the recent tragic events in Israel, they are continuing to operate normally.
Paving the Way for Future Development
An integral part of the Genesis Wind project is the establishment of a nearly 17-mile underground high-voltage transmission cable connecting the Golan Heights to Israel’s national grid. This significant infrastructure development will facilitate the execution of additional renewable energy projects in the region, thus propelling the nation towards a sustainable future.
