In the most recent week, export inspections of U.S. corn and soybeans have declined compared to the previous week, according to the latest data from the Agriculture Department.
Corn Shipments
For the week ended Dec. 7, corn shipments totaled 711,733 metric tons. This is a decrease from the previous week but higher compared to the same time last year.
Soybean Shipments
Soybean shipments totaled 984,410 tons in the same week. This is also a decline from the previous week and significantly lower than the levels observed last year.
Rise in Wheat Inspections
On a positive note, wheat inspections increased in the latest week. The total wheat shipments reached 281,697 tons, surpassing both last week’s figures and the levels reported at this time last year.
Leading Destinations
Among the leading destinations for U.S. agricultural exports, Japan emerged as the largest importer of U.S. wheat. Mexico, on the other hand, topped the list for corn shipments, while China remained the leader for soybean shipments.
Futures Contracts Performance
In today’s trading session, the most-active CBOT futures contracts displayed mixed performance. Corn experienced a 1% decline, soybeans rose by 1.4%, and wheat saw a 3.4% decrease.
