Chipotle Mexican Grill, the popular fast-casual restaurant chain, has announced its plans to open new locations in the Middle East. This expansion is part of Chipotle’s broader strategy to grow and reach more customers.
The company’s newly formed business development group is actively seeking opportunities for growth through partnerships with external entities. Chipotle aims to leverage these partnerships to drive expansion.
Starting early next year, Chipotle will be opening its first restaurants in Dubai and Kuwait through a partnership with franchise retail operator Alshaya Group. The company plans to further expand its presence across the region.
Brian Niccol, CEO of Chipotle, expressed confidence in Alshaya’s market expertise and believes that partnering with them will provide quick access to these vibrant economies.
Currently, Chipotle operates over 3,200 restaurants in North America, two in Germany, six in France, and 15 in the United Kingdom. Looking ahead, the company has ambitious plans to grow its North American presence even further, aiming to open more than 7,000 locations by growing at a rate of 8% to 10% per year.
