Republican presidential hopeful Vivek Ramaswamy criticized the party’s “establishment” for the recent Democratic wins in elections. Speaking at the Republican debate in Miami, Ramaswamy expressed his disappointment and called for accountability within the party.
A Party of Losers?
Ramaswamy voiced his concern about the Republican Party’s current state, stating, “We’ve become a party of losers at the end of the day.” He specifically blamed Republican National Committee Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel for Tuesday’s losses and called for her resignation.
Seeking Deeper Understanding
When asked why he believes he should be president, Ramaswamy highlighted the need to address the underlying issues within the Republican Party. He referenced not only the losses in the 2020 elections but also the 2022 midterms. According to Ramaswamy, there is a deeper problem that requires attention and accountability.
Joining Other Hopefuls
Ramaswamy was among four other GOP presidential hopefuls participating in the debate on Wednesday night. Meanwhile, frontrunner Donald Trump was holding his own rally in Hialeah, Florida. While Ramaswamy currently polls at approximately 4%, he remains significantly behind Trump, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, and former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley.
