On a seasonally adjusted basis, the number of people in employment in September 2021 was 0.9% lower than February 2020 before restrictions were imposed due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Germany.
Year-on-Year, the number of people in employment increased slightly by 0.5% in September, which was the 5th straight YOY increase.
In Q3 of 2021, the average number of people in employment was nearly 45.1 million, but the figure improved by 0.4% after seasonal adjustment.
The adjusted unemployment rate in September 2021 was 3.4%, with 1.38 million people unemployed. That was a decline of 356,000 compared with September 2020.
After adjusting for seasonal and irregular effects, the number of unemployed people stood at 1.44 million due to weather conditions.
