The production in the construction sector edged up by 0.9% in the eurozone and increased by 1.2% in the EU.

On an annual basis, the production in construction rose by 1.5% in the eurozone and was up 1.8% in the EU in September 2021 compared with September 2020.
In the euro area, civil engineering expanded by 2.6% in September from the prior month, and building and construction increased by 0.9%.
Slovenia (+8.5%) was leading other member states in recording the highest monthly increases in production in construction, followed by Sweden (+6.0%) and Hungary (+4.1%). The most significant decreases were recorded in Romania, Slovakia, and Poland.
Annually, the highest increases in production were recorded in Hungary (+14.3%), Finland(+6.0%), and Poland (+4.3%). The largest annual decreases were posted in Romania, Spain, and Slovakia.
